Miscellaneous 2001-2002 Projects in Pictures

During 2001 and 2002 there have been many smaller projects completed. Most are of the ongoing, regular maintenance variety yet left undone make a resort "feel" old.

During the 2000 unit upgrade all the room softgoods were replaced. This included drapes, bedspreads, most chair coverings and shower curtains. Note new 2 line phone - with data port - on nightstand. Another 2001 project now complete.

The carpet picked for the 2000 renovation has not held up as well as was planned. In 2002 a new carpet was picked for the units that had not yet been completed and for all future carpet replacements. Note the new green napkins and place mats visible in this shot.

These photos show the 2002 carpet as well as some of the softgoods changed in the 2000 renovation.

Also in 2002 a decision was made to change the color of all the linen used at Cypress Pointe Resort. A change from the traditional yellow in room and white pool towels was completed in March 2002. A new distinctive green color was picked for CPR while CPGV (Phase 2) will keep the original yellow. Every linen item at CPR including the pool towels, place mats, linen napkins and kitchen linen were replaced with the new color. The old linen was sold to keep the cost as low as possible and to recycle the still useful products.

After the new pool deck was completed the Volleyball area received a new surface of fresh, white sand. Unseen here is the new underground drainage installed to prevent water puddles and the mildew that had formed on the old deck behind the Volcano. The shuffleboard area (background) will be resurfaced in June.

Also restored was the sand area under the swing set.

In December 2001 the original style Cypress Pointe Resort sign was restored to the front entrance. The original had been removed in 1998.
