PAST NEWS A selection of news gone by. 10/30/02 Owners: The auction of HOA weeks to owners in good standing is now underway. If you have pre registered your notice will arrive by email. If you have not registered, do not receive your email notice or wish to bid now please send an email message to bid@cypresspointe.net and the bidding procedure will be forwarded to your designated email address. All bids must be received by 11/15/02. Good luck! 10/17/02 Remedial work needed on the Volcano is scheduled for 10/23-10/25/02. The Volcano pool may not be available to guests during the repairs. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. 5/14/02 Spring/Summer Newsletter now online. Mailing out to owners next week. Preliminary BOD Minutes from 5/4 are available. 4/22/02 Reservation procedure reminder. Requests for use or banking can be handled via email. The special address ONLY for reservation requests - resvri@aol.com Save time and phone charges by utiliziing this service. 4/2/02 The Volcano pool closed at 11PM Monday, April 1, 2002 for renovation of the deck. Reopening is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2002. The recreation areas (volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard and kiddie area) immediately adjacent to the pool will also be closed during the construction. All guests are reminded that the two other pools and all recreational areas at Cypress Pointe Grandevillas are available to all Cypress Pointe guests. The Clubhouse will remain open during the pool renovation. The snack bar/convenience store at the pool may have shortened hours of operation during construction but all services will be available from the Phase 2 location. Our Official Cypress Pointe Giftshop at the Clubhouse will be open regular hours - 10AM to 10PM daily. 3/28/02 The new phone system is now on line. Each Phase 1 unit now has 4 phone lines (2 in the "A" side and 2 in the "B" side lock off) and 4 new phones (3 with data ports). Personalized greeting messages and DID (Direct Inward Dialing - a personal number assigned to you during your stay) will be activated within a few weeks. Services in Phase 2 are not changing. 3/23/02 Thanks to the Owners who were able to attend the annual meeting. The Annual Meeting Notice, Proxy and Ballot will be mailed to all owners this week. PLEASE sign and return your proxy/ballot as soon as you receive it. This is your direct voice in the operations of Cypress Pointe Resort and the Association is made stronger by a good response form all owners. A PDF copy of the proxy/ballot that can be mailed OR faxed is available. Two seats on the Board of Directors are up for election. See the candidates here. Both owners and guests need to plan around this major improvement and repair to one of Cypress Pointe's best known features. 1/6/02 The Board Minutes have been updated and are now complete from 1998-2001. 2002 annual fees were due on or before 1/1/02. Accounts unpaid will not be allowed to reserve time for 2002. 12/11/01 The Cypress Pointe Flag is returned to the front of the Clubhouse. See the first public photo (with most of your HOA Board members). UPDATE 12/18/01 See the NEW sign! 12/3/01 The annual maintenance fees are due this month. Please make your payment as soon as possible and remember to reserve your time for 2002. 11/14/01 The sign issue has been resolved. We are pleased to announce the restoration of our entrance sign and a new version of the Sunterra sales logo. Sign11/10/01 If you have been in contact (even if you left a message) with the Customer Service Department regarding your balance forward at the Cypress Pointe Resort since our new management company has taken over on September 1, 2001, please be assured that Customer Service will continue to research the amount(s) in question until the matter is resolved for each account. If the Customer Service Department is working on such an inquiry for you, your account will not be turned over to the collection company for balance forward issues, unless the matter is not successfully resolved and you have been so informed.Due to the high volume of calls and the research required to respond to each account inquiry, our response time has increased but we will do our best to quickly resolve any discrepancies. To that effect, we have already hired additional personnel. Please return your payment as promptly as possible. With this billing we will be returning to the traditional one annual fee procedure. Once paid your 2002 week is available for use or trade. Owners wishing to maximize trade power can now reserve time for deposit to RCI or II up to two years ahead. The Sunterra representative to the HOA Board has changed. We welcome VRI as our new management team and look forward to a mutually successful relationship for many years to come. The Cypress Pointe HOA, the Board and named individuals as well as Sunterra Corporation have agreed to an amicable settlement. Key items include a new management company at Cypress Pointe effective 9/1/01 and an exclusive onsite sales agreement with Sunterra.
6/16/01 Warning to Cypress Pointe and other Sunterra Timeshare owners. A resale company "Vacations Only" is contacting Sunterra owners and asking if they want to rent or sell their weeks. While reselling weeks is within an owners rights this company may be looking for "appraisal", a web page or a high listing fee. They may also tell you an unrealistic resale price to get you to list with them. Carefully check out any company before listing your week for sale and NEVER pay an upfront fee over $50. This company is affiliated with Century 21Vacation Properties according to their informational documents and may say they are representing Sunterra. 6/7/01 The Board of Directors has approved a split payment schedule for the Special Assessment. Owners must contact Customer Service at 800-864-1646 or 407-532-1523 to request a split payment plan. Owners must be current on all other fees to qualify. All fees, including the Special Assessment, must be paid before week is used or banked.
